The 2021 Ultra4 Australia King of the Mountain presented by Radius Fabrication
took place on 14th August 2021 at Landcruiser Mountain Park. The race took place within the Billabong Campground allowing campers in the campground to watch from camp and line the racetrack to watch the cars hit the high-speed sections. The day was jammed packed with the first 1.5hr session starting at 8.00am. It was scheduled to have an all-in grid start but due to the thick fog, it was decided to be draw out of the hat with all classes racing together. Michael Hayes from Superior Engineering draw pole position and led the pack and managed crossed the line first in Ultra4 class taking home the 100 points, followed by All Metal Magic and JD Racing. Utterly Purplex Racing taking out the Ultra4 Limited class and Compfab Motorsports racing taking out the Modified Class.
Race 2 set off at 11.30am with the fog lifted, this then allowed for an all in start. Thorpe Motorsport got the jump on the pack but Superior Engineering had more legs and got to the end of the straight first causing a white out with dust to all the fellow racers. Thorpe Motorsport backed off in preparation for the dip which was unfortunately hit on the rear passenger side by JD Racing sending Thorpe Motorsport up the fence and JD Racing then getting hit by Corostar Motorsports causing a roll over and then R&C Motorsports getting held up in the pile up. All racers were safe and assisted each other back on their wheels with most continuing the race. Unfortunately, Thorpe Motorsports sway bar was damaged which caused them to be out of this race but tried to fix the Ultra4 to make it out for the Shootouts. Superior Engineering managed to keep a fast pace to finish 5 laps with the fastest lap time of the weekend of 17:19:8. Utterly Purplex Racing taking out the Ultra4 Limited class and Compfab Motorsports racing taking out the Modified Class again.
With a new points system for the weekend, seen all 5 races attracting points, it brought a go hard or go home attitude for the teams.
