2023 Round 3 Radius Fabricaton King of the Mountain

2023 Round 3 Radius Fabricaton King of the Mountain

What a weekend we had at the Radius Fabrication King of the Mountain race at Cherrabah Resort on the weekend.
Setting up sponsors lane and finishing our tracks marking we new there was going to be rain and that the tracks weren't going to be dusty at all.
Thursday arvo/Friday saw scrutineering done at a special set up area that the cars just flowed through and worked really well.
Friday morning saw us do the first guided lap of the track and then we got hit by the first of maybe 3 passing showers just so we knew it wasn't going to get dusty. LOL
The showers took a break after 12pm and we started the race dead on time at 1pm and that was when the teams really had to earn their positions.
They battled bog holes, creek crossings, mud, trees, rocks and aquaplaning down the side of the airstrip at high speeds.
A few came in during the time for repairs and to wash mud out of coolers but there were no complaints as this race is never easy even in the dry.
Saturday the rains held off once again all day and we kicked off a bit late at 9:30am for shootout 1.
This stage wasn't meant to take as long as it did to get the next 18 cars through but one section just had a lot of them beat but it made for awesome spectating.
Shootout to was a "paper clip" designed race with a little more high speed but the action was right in front of you all the time.
Shootout 3 was then changed as we were running out of time and we linked a knarly rock drop off from the area into a mix of high speed and faster rock sections to have a longer track still with heaps of spectator points.
The people around with phones and cameras was great to see as we put on a lot of action for the punters.
Saturday night saw us live feed the presentations for round winners, series winners and to thank a lot of our volunteers and sponsors so i hope you enjoyed the antics that happened. If you didn't you can go back and watch it on our page.
