IT'S BEEN A SEASON OF CHANGE FOR US ALL!
What a year 2023 season was.
With the newly appointed committee on board for the year, 2023 was a huge success.
There is so much this team does behind the scenes to make everything run the way it should.
Many changes were made this year to improve the event that we can't name them all, from Civil operators, tech guru's with getting a race control centre the improvements have shown that we are here for the long run. Thankfully for myself the whole steering committee is staying for 2024. We have already started to make changes and plan's for the 2024 season.
More tracks will be cleared, along with new spectator areas as well as working towards live online timing. For me personally it was an emotional year, as some know I was dealing with some personal issues and without the help of those that stood up to take on more roles (especially Mel my PA & Croppy who has taken on social media and killing it) there would not have been a 2024 season.
The rounds this year went off without any major issues. We ran mostly on time without delays at all events and this will improve next year (though this did catch some of the racers out).
The team numbers were very much down this year, and this is due to having the races too close together. Next year season dates will be more spaced-out, which means more prep time for teams to be ready including the Ultra4 track building team.
Rounds 1 has been locked in for 20th April 2024.
Round 2 TBC but this is likely to be in July to be confirmed with Cherrabah.
Round 3 will be 11-12th October 2024.
KOTM23 this year was fantastic with so many teams still running after the 5hr it goes to show the level of cars here is getting better and better.
I would just like to say a massive thanks to all the teams who made it to this years racing, you put on a hell of a show for everyone, The level of media and self-promotion has stepped up tremendously from previous years and it's great to see so thank you for a great year.
Obviously, I also can't do this without the support of my wife Candice and family. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support.
It makes me very humbled to see what a great family affair Ultra4 Australia has turned into over the years and how the "Ultra4 Family" vibe is so good when we are all together.
With that said the excitement for the 2024 season is very strong and it's great to see everyone getting ready
for another year of racing with many new teams and old teams keen to come back to racing next year. Thanks everyone once again and look forward to bigger and better racing season in 2024.
